Y Gee Mahendra, who wast seen in Kanithan, has been roped in to play an important role in director Adhik Ravichandran’s Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangathavan. “For the past three years, I’ve been doing only character roles.
With this role (Current Murugan), I am back to my forte, which is the comedy. I play Shriya Saran’s father and it’s a fun-filled role. I’ve completed my portions and the majority of my scenes are with STR and VTV Ganesh,” says the actor when queried about his role in the movie.
The actor, who was embroiled in the Beep song controversy, was all praise for his fellow co-star STR. “I found him to be a very talented person who knows a lot about cinema. And I heard from my director that STR was the one who insisted that I play the role. He’s got a high scope for performance in this film.”
Having a slew of films lined up for release, the Yuddham Sei actor is happy to be signing meaty roles in 2016. “I play important roles in Vijay Antony’s Saithaan, Kadamban and Vijay 60. In Vijay 60, I essay Vijay’s boss and it was great sharing screen space with him as I know him right from his childhood. I still have three more days of shoot left for the movie and I will be a part of an action sequence as well. When it comes to Vijay Antony, he’s very calculative and is ready to go to any extent for the success of the movie. Kadamban is a movie with a social message on deforestation. Along with my daughter Madhuvanthi, I am playing a significant role,” he concludes.
