There have been several reports over the years that many actors are vying to be a part of Rajinikanth’s Moondru Mugam remake. But eventually, Raghava Lawrence has bagged the film. The 1982 action film, which turned the tables in Rajini’s career, will have Lawrence essaying a triple role. A source says, “After Shivalinga, Lawrence is all set to work on Moondru Mugam remake. They haven’t decided the rest of the cast and crew, and Lawrence will finalise the names only after he completes shooting for Shivalinga. The climax portions are currently being shot in and around Foreshore Estate. They are planning to wrap the film in 10 days’ time. Only after this film, he will announce the names for the remake. But he is likely to begin shooting by December.“ There are also reports that KS Ravikumar will be directing the remake. But the source adds, “No, he will not be helming the project. Lawrence might direct it himself or rope in a senior director. The team hasn’t fi nalised yet.“
It is to be noted that Lawrence is a huge fan of Rajinikanth and has immense respect for him. Both of them are, in fact, followers of Saint Raghavendra. “He joined cine ma only because of Rajinikanth.
