After working as an assistant to Karthik Subbaraj, director Raghavendra Prasad is gearing up for his directorial debut, 54321. The film, which stars Shabeer Kallarakkal, Arvin and Pavithra in the lead, is all set to hit the screens next month.
Talking about the film, Prasad says, “Once I completed working on Pizza, I set out to do a film on my own. I wrote the script of 54321… a psychological thriller. We kept the title, 54321, because the film revolves around five people, four lifestyles, three murders, two hours and one revenge. These five strangers meet at a place, where a small incident takes place. What happens in those two hours forms the crux.” The film produced by GV Kannan also stars Jayakumar, Ravi Raghavendra and Rohini in important roles. “We shot mostly in and around Chennai, and a few portions in Ooty and Coonoor. We completed the shoot in 37 days. The most challenging part was to shoot the freeze sequence. Usually, we need to use a particular technology and spend lakhs of money to shoot the scene. But then we completed the shot in four hours. We also took a lot of time to shoot the climax fight sequence,” he says, adding, “I am ready with my next script, which will be an action-thriller. I will begin work on the project once this film releases.”
